If you’ve been seeing images of both a one-legged ankh and a two-legged ankh and wondering what the difference is, you’re not alone. This is a question that comes up more and more lately — and I don’t think that’s a coincidence: The Ankh is making a comeback!

Most people are familiar with the one-legged ankh. It’s the symbol we see in ancient Egyptian artwork, temples, and hieroglyphs. This ankh has become almost synonymous with ancient Egypt itself.

The two-legged ankh, however, is much less well known. And there’s a reason for that…

The Atlantean Ankh

The two-legged ankh is often referred to as the Atlantean ankh. According to what has come through in recent years, this ankh predates ancient Egypt and originates from Atlantis. After the fall of Atlantis, much of its knowledge was lost, and what survived was brought to other civilizations — including Egypt.

Over time, the original two-legged ankh evolved into the one-legged ankh we recognize today.

Because so little has been preserved from Atlantis, this symbol has remained largely hidden. But in recent years, more information has been resurfacing — not only about Atlantis itself, but also about ancient technologies, sacred sites, and energetic tools. I truly believe this is why the Atlantean ankh is being “returned” to us now.

To me, this feels like an incredible time to be alive and to witness this remembering of ancient knowledge! 😄✨

My Experience

People often ask where I get this information from, and I want to be very transparent about that.

Several years ago, I experienced a massive opening through a healing session using an ankh like this. Something shifted profoundly. A blockage I had carried for years lifted with a surprising ease, and it completely changed my understanding of what was possible with energy healing and with the ankh itself.

I share that personal story here if you’re curious.

Since then, I’ve been learning — and remembering — how to work with the ankh in energy healing. This comes from my own experiences, from working with others in sessions, from exchanging knowledge with other ankh healers, from what I’ve read, and also from past-life regressions -where my connection with the ankh was very clear.

What I share is not only based on theory — it’s lived experience! (and I keep discovering more each day 🙏)

How the Two Ankhs Work Differently

The main difference between the one-legged and the two-legged ankh lies in how they work with energy.

Energy healing, to me, includes everything connected to your energetic system, your consciousness, and your spiritual awakening process.

The Atlantean ankh has two legs, representing the feminine and masculine poles. When used in energy work, it behaves very differently in contact with the human body.

One of the most fascinating things about this ankh is that it responds to readiness. If the person receiving the energy is not open or not ready, nothing happens. The ankh simply stays cold.

When someone is ready, however, the ankh seems to “turn on.” It begins to guide the session intuitively, showing exactly what is needed. There’s no forcing (!) — only alignment.

This ankh can direct energy to specific areas, but it can also draw energy away when necessary, creating a continuous flow within the energetic system. It doesn’t just add energy; it balances it.

The one-legged ankh carries a different frequency and works in a different way, which is something I’ll explore more deeply in future content.

Working With the Ankh

If you feel called to work with an ankh, my biggest advice is this: start with meditation.

Rather than approaching it from the mind — trying to decide what should happen — allow the ankh to guide you. There are basic techniques you can learn, but ultimately, working with the ankh is intuitive. It responds to presence, openness, and trust.

Unfortunately, much of the original knowledge from Atlantis and ancient Egypt has been lost. We don’t fully remember when, how, or why the ankh was used in all its applications.

But we are living in a time of awakening.

With discoveries like Göbekli Tepe and the growing awareness of ancient civilizations and forgotten technologies, pieces of this knowledge are returning. I believe the re-emergence of the ankh is part of that greater remembering. ✨✨✨

A Time of Remembering

I’m really excited about what’s unfolding. I have a deep sense that more and more people will begin working with the ankh — not only to support others through energy healing, but also to use if throughout their own healing process.

If you already own an ankh — whether one-legged or two-legged — and you work with it in any way, I would love to hear your experience. Everyone’s ankh story is unique, and there is so much we can learn from one another.

If you’d like to learn more about the Ankh, I’ve created a free Ankh Introduction Guide you can download — it includes more information about working with the Ankh, its purposes, where to find one for yourself, ..and more: Ankh Introduction: A Beginner’s Guide – The Soul Connection
