These are 11 self-care rituals for you to try. Get creative and add your own variations to these. Enjoy!

1. Daily meditation

Add a daily meditation to your schedule to practice gratitude and to set your intention. Even 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference in how you will feel.

Meditation is the ultimate way to take out time for yourself, and can really help you to feel more calm and peaceful on a daily basis.

If you like to get started, or just want some recommended meditations to try, have a look at my Guide To Meditation.

To get some inspiration for your practice, it is also nice to use some Self-Care Inspirational Cards for a suggested intention and/or affirmation to meditate on.

2. Your Own Wellness Ritual

Turn your bathroom and bedroom into a spa. Add some lush plants to the space, burn some essential oils, incense or sented candles. Make sure the lighting is soothing and the space is tidy.

If you can, another great option is to book a spa or wellness day regularly. Give your body the time to recharge and heal. You will notice the difference in all areas of your life.

3. Lighten Up Your Space

Have a look at the space and rooms in your house where you spend your time. What can you do the clean them up? Clear some of your stuff, make sure it smells good, and add some crystals you like.

Now your space feel lighter, add some nice decorative lighting or some candles. It will instantly make you feel better!

4. A Tea Ritual

When you have tea, make it a ritual:

  1. Choose your favorite tea cup
  2. Choose your favorite tea (personally I like Kusmi tea, Numi tea Aged Earl Grey, Celestal Seasoning Tension Tamer, or fresh tea leaves for my local tea shop)
  3. Watch how the tea unfolds and changes the color of the water
  4. Take your time to smell the tea and appreciate how it smells
  5. Find a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy your tea without distractions
  6. Relax and enjoy!

5. Journaling

Get creative in a journal! Take the time to draw, write, paint or collage anything you feel like. Free up the time to journal and set the intention that there are no expectations. Anything you come up with is fine!

Get a journal you love the look of, take a few deep breaths and go with whatever comes to mind. This is a great way to get in touch with your intuition.

If you prefer a more structured approach, you can use this Self-Care Planner Journal, which comes with reminders to practice gratitude, set your intention, prepare healthy meals, and goal setting on a daily basis.

6. A Moon Ritual

Look for the dates on which New Moon and Full Moon take place each month and note them in your schedule (or get a moon calendar). These are both perfect moments to pause and set your intentions for the upcoming moon cycle.

New Moon is a time to set intentions, and Full Moon is a time for forgiveness and letting go. By intentionally taking the time to reflect on this, you will become more intentional with how you spend your time.

If this is new for you, look if you can find a local moon circle or ceremony to join.

7. Take The Day Off To Read Your Favorite Book

What is better than having a full day off to just read your favorite book? Nothing screams self-care more than this.

Take a full day off, switch off your phone and pick your favorite spot to read. This can be on your couch in your most comfy clothes, in the park, the library or anywhere you feel most relaxed and inspired.

8. Do Some Grounding Activities In Nature

The more we get in our heads in our day-to-day lives, the less grounded we become. Grounding yourself will reconnect your body to the earth, and is essential for your wellbeing.

There are many grounding activities you can do, and if possible, they are even more effective when you get out into nature to do them.

Read my post 15 Ways To Ground Yourself and pick one that feels good to you. Personally, I love getting out into nature, laying in the grass, doing a meditation or some Reiki to ground myself.

9. Cook A Healthy Whole Food Meal For Yourself

Show your body that you care by taking the time to cook a healthy, delicious meal for yourself. Whole and hearthy food is the best for your body, your soul and your mood.

10. Your Own Altar

Create an altar somewhere in your place where you put some things that inspire you, that you want to be reminded off, or that you want to honor.

This can be anything from an inspiring image, a picture of a loved one, your favorite affirmation, card, crystal, candle, or a drawing of your goals.

Having a small altar can help to remind you to take a pause and reflect on your life and express gratitude for what you have.

11. Relaxing Yoga

Add a yoga practice to your week. Restorative yoga or yoga nidra are great ways to recharge the body and get it into a state of deep relaxation. Try one of the options below, or find your own favorite practice.

This blanket yoga practice is very cosy and is best done with a blanket for extra comfort. I love how relaxing it is!

The following restorative yoga session is great for relaxation and recuperation. You stay in a pose slightly longer than in other styles of yoga, which helps the body to really restore:
