At first, meditation felt like a struggle, but it changed my life – and it can change your life too!
Because meditation is not just about sitting still, it’s about mastering your mind, and accepting what is.
Learning to observe your thoughts and being okay with the ‘discomfort’ of sitting in silence, can feel really challenging. That’s normal.
But if you accept the challenge, you will absolutely feel yourself grow stronger.
Just stick with it!
Benefit #1: Feel More Calm
Once you learn to meditate, you always have a safe space away from the chaos of life. A place where you can always go to when you feel the need to destress.
When you feel things are not going as you would like them to, and you don’t know how to feel less affected by challenges in your life, meditation can be the answer.
When you learn to sit in stillness comfortably, your mind has a moment to unwind and release stress and tension.
You can use your breath as a focus point to provide you a sense of safety, calm and groundedness in the present moment.
Through regular practice, meditation brings you a deep sense of inner calm that you can bring with you anywhere you go.
Benefit #2: Feel More Connected
Through meditation, you will discover and strengthen the connection with yourself, with others, and with the world around you.
Because only by turning inward, you can experience the unimaginable depths of your own consciousness.
It is also through this practice you can learn to dissolve (self)judgment and increase feelings of (self)compassion.
You will recognize that, on a deeper level, your struggles are shared by all beings, and your experiences are part of a universal web of connectivity.
This feeling of interconnectedness willcreate a sense of understanding, empathy and belonging—a deeper knowing that we are all part of the same cosmic creation.
Benefit #3: Feel More Positive
Meditation acts as a source of light. It helps you shine light on what feels dark and heavy. By observing your thoughts without judgment, you become aware of negativity loops and self-limiting beliefs. Gradually, you replace unhelpful thought patterns with more a positive outlook.
Meditation rewires your neural pathways, and helps you feel more optimistic, trusting and resilient. When you sit in stillness, you learn to tune into a feeling of ease and lightness. Over time, you transform from the inside, and you’ll begin to also see changes on the outside.
Benefit #4: Feel More Focused
Besides getting away from the many distractions of life, meditation helps you increase your mental focus.
By practicing to refocus your attention on your breath or body, you train your mind to stay present.
Instead of trying to push thoughts away, or reject them, you learn to notice them and let go.
It’s amazing how something so simple will over time help you focus better and have an effect on all aspects of your life!
Benefit #5: Feel More Spiritual
Beyond the physical and mental realms lies the spiritual realm.
Meditation opens the door to this part of the universe that otherwise stays hidden by your mental chatter.
When you learn to quiet your mind, you can connect with parts of existence that are accessible beyond programming, limiting beliefs, societal labels and dogmas.
As you go deeper into your meditation practice, you connect with the essence of your being. Whether you call it soul, spirit, or consciousness, it will show you a truth that resonates across cultures all throughout history.
It’s literally a sneak peek into the interconnectedness of all life.
