Did you know that one of your chakras is naturally more active than your other chakras? This most active chakra defines a large part of your personality and how you relate and contribute to the world. Finding your chakra personality type will likely be an eye-opening experience.

Firstly, I would like to give credits to Shai Tubali and his book The Seven Chakra Personality Types which inspired me to write this post.

After reading the book and finding my own chakra personality type, I found that things fell into place for me! It made me understand why certain things that seem to work great for other people, have never seemed to work for me, and vice versa. It also gave me insight in why people do what they do in life.

In this article, I will explain what a chakra personality type is and why they are important. I will also get into why (and how) you should find yours, and what the 7 types are. If you would like to know how to make a more in-depth analysis of your chakra type, I recommend getting the book.

What Is A Chakra Personality Type?

We all have seven chakras, of which one chakra is more active than the other six. Because each chakra has a different function and quality in our body, the most active chakra determines a large part of our personality.

By understanding this, we can see why we have certain drivers that motivate us in life. We can also understand why others, that have a different ‘ruling’ chakra, are driven by different motivations than we are. This provides a much better understanding of why we do what we do, and why others do what they do.

Your chakra personality type consists of a combination of your two to three most active chakras. One of all seven chakras will be the most active: that is your main chakra personality type.

In addition, there will most likely be one or two more chakras of which the types also strongly resonate with you. These are your supporting chakras, that together with the most active one, will make up your chakra personality type.

Why It Is Imporant Know Your Chakra Personality Type

By knowing your own chakra personality type, you will understand what your main drivers are in your life. It might make it clear to you why you are struggling with certain things more than others, and why certain things come more easily to you than for others.

It will also show you how you can best contribute to the world and where you need to focus your energy.

I was so amazed about this that I really felt the need to share it. For years, I was trying to understand why most people are fine with living their lives in a certain way, while I just wasn’t. After finding out about my chakra personality type, it suddenly all made sense!

How To Find Your Chakra Personality Type

Read about, and listen to, the descriptions for each of the seven chakra types below. There will be one that you will instinctively feel more connected to that the others. Do not overthink which one you think it should be, go with your gut feeling.

There will surely be one type that you will instantly feel a connection to. This is your main chakra personality type.

There will probably one or two additional chakra personality types that also resonate with you (to a lesser extent). These are your supporting chakra types.

In the book, you can read more about the functions of these supporting types. Although I think that finding out your main chakra personality type, will already be a great help to you!

The 7 Chakra Personality Types

1st Chakra Personality Type: The Builder

The builders form the largest group of people in the world. About 40% of all people are in this group. They are the people that are most grounded and solid in their being. Builders love to steadily work on something, and they are largely responsible for our societal structures.

Without this group we would be lost. The builders ensure there is a steady base of structure and services in place that are useful to everyone.

Builders like structure and routine. They believe that steady, hard work is the way to go in life. This provides them security and it creates a sense of belonging and purpose for them.

The builder chakra type does not like change and likes to spend their time in a similar way for a long period of time. They fare well with routine and steady relationships. For this reason, builders are also very loyal and accountable.

They can run the risk of getting overly attached to rules and can get rigid towards other people that think differently. They will not easily adapt to sudden changes.

2nd Chakra Personality Type: The Artist

For the 2nd chakra personality types, or the artists, life is one great adventure. They live in the moment, want to enjoy themselves and experience life with all it has to offer.

They make up only 7% of all people. The artists are the spice of life for other chakra types. They have a way of inspiring others and spreading good vibes and humor.

The artists are people with a noticeable and outgoing personality. Because of their need to be excited, they have many interest that they stick with for a short, but intense, amount of time. They are like tornado´s: when they are interested in something, they go all in, but then they quickly lose interest and move on to the next thing.

Artists love their freedom and cannot be pinned down easily. They are also not scared of taking risks, because their worst fear is that their life becomes stagnate.

They love anything expressive, creative and they love to laugh and have fun. They can inspire others and make them feel better, but can also run the risk of becoming self-centered and egotistical.

3rd Chakra Personality Type: The Achiever

The achievers make up about 25% of all people. Their main driver in life is ambition. Achieving goals and getting results gives meaning to their lives.

Achievers have a very strong will to reach new heights and spend their days (and often nights) to obsess over this. It is common for achievers to go with little sleep and be restless, because they are constantly focused on their goal on the horizon.

This makes them great decision makers and leaders in a crisis, but it can also make them insensitive to the feelings and concerns of others. They love results and tend to avoid discussions, they just want to get things done as fast as possible.

The achievers are all about ambition and therefore run the risk of never being satisfied. They are often more prone to addiction than other types. They can easily forget to make time for leisurely activities and their relationships.

4th Chakra Personality Type: The Caretaker

The caretakers, who make up 15% of all people, are motivated by love and relationships. The only thing that matters to them in life are their relationships, love, and care for others.

Caretakers often work in a field where they can devote themselves to making a contribution to the world. This can be in the form of a family, charity work, activism or spiritual devotion. They are often in professions where they can provide care to others in some way. They want to feel that they do something that matters to other people.

Because they are driven by their emotions, they are highly sensitive. They can therefore be extremely caring and helpful to others, and can truly lighten up the day of the people around them.

They can run the risk of becoming to demanding in their relationships when they feel that others are not giving them what they expect from them. This can result in jealousy and possessiveness towards the person they care about.

5th Chakra Personality Type: The Speaker

The speakers are motivated by their need to share their ideas with the world and the urge to express themselves. They make up only 7% of all people but are the most seen by the world (because of their need to be seen).

They are visionaries that contribute to the world by sharing their unique ideas with many people. Because they are great at visualizing and conceptualizing ideas, they can be a source of inspiration to others. However, they are not so good at executing their ideas.

Speakers are often good leaders and have the ability to explain difficult systems in a way that can be understood by many people.

Because speakers are mostly living in their head, they can get lost there sometimes. They run the risk of being uncaring and manipulative toward others when they get lost in their pursuit to influence people or situations.

6th Chakra Personality Type: The Thinker

The thinker is motivated by the need to understand the world. Thinkers only make up 5% of all people and experience life from inside their head. Because of their strong need to understand the ‘why’ of the world, they are restless and always busy observing and analyzing things.

They love difficult problems that they can sink their teeth into. Thinkers possess a great intelligence and often have scientific and unconventional minds. They can understand things beyond the level that most people can understand the world.

Thinkers see the world from a helicopter view, they are looking from an outsiders perspective rather than experiencing it through their own emotions. They can provide great value to the world with their analysis of complex problems.

Because of this ability, they have little regard for relationships and can become overly critical and judgemental of others. This can make them seem arrogant.

7th Chakra Personality Type: The Yogi

The yogis only make up 1% of all people. Yogis are naturally driven by what is happening in their inner world. Their lives are devoted to mysticism and meditation. They are fully spiritual beings.

Because yogis are so detached from the physical world, they come across as distant and uninvolved. They do not need many physical things in their life and generally live with a limited amount of possessions and other earthly pleasures.

Their life is simple and their demeanour is calm and collected. They do not get emotional or angry quickly and just let the world go by. They make decisions based on their intuition (which is very well developed) and do not have a strong need for many relationships in their life.

Because yogis live in their head, they are not grounded, tend to go with the flow and take life as it comes. They risk feeling judged by others for the way they are (as they will not be understood by many people).
